Hi all. I was given 5 chicks at 3 weeks (1) and 2 weeks (4). I have 3 that are clearly 2 different "breeds" and I can't quite verify what kinds of chickens they may be. They are now 7 and 6 weeks respectively. They are growing quickly.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! This is a great place! :)

Try taking some photos of your chicks and post them here;

Maybe we can help figure out the breeds! :)

Thank you. I never thought I would enjoy chickens. I thought of them as utilitarian until I learned how much personality they can have.

Hi and welcome to our flock!

So glad you could join the BYC community! Congratulations on your new chicks. Sounds like you have a nice variety. Definitely post in the section that dreamer5577 linked to, to find out what your mystery birds are.

Hope you enjoy BYC as much as we have! Feel free to ask all he questions you may have.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Chickens definitely don't seem like a good source of fun or entertainment, but boy are they! I'm glad you are enjoying them as much as we do!

I did and everyone wants to label them cockerels... They were DNA tested and female... Lol
