I inherited a flock of about 30 chickens and all their equipment when my son's best friend decided to break down his farm and move to Arizona. I had been planning on raising chickens for quite sometime and I did a lot of research, but I was not at all prepared. My son and I scurried and got a coop built and insulated because it was late October. I have Australorps, a Barred Rock, and Americaunas. I have made many mistakes and have had to rely on advice from many people. When the weather got nice we started to build the chicken run - apparently we weren't going fast enough because I noticed chickens were starting to vanish. In the past month egg production has almost halted. I came home from school one day to see a raccoon running out of the coop. Chickens are disappearing at an alarming rate. The coop is secured at night so it's happening during the day. Almost finished with the outdoor run. I will have to buy more chickens to re-plenish my flock.

If you can't finish the run In time and you're fenced in put netting over the yard so racoons can't climb over, and if thier seriously dropping off I'd put down tarp in a she'd or garage and keep them in. Last option buy a dog kennel online and just put that up

Predators of any kind just plain suck.
I hope you can get the run secure before you lose anymore. You may want to look into putting a hardwire "skirt" in too.
