Hi everyone!! I have enjoyed reading the posts here and thought it was time to join in. I am a farmer/farmer's wife from NE South Dakota. Currently has 4 Easter eggers, 2 production reds, 5 guineas (3 male, 2 female), a peacock named Gus in one coop for the 'mature' birds and have 4 weeks old chicks that consist of 5 pioneers, 3 barred rock, 2 red star, 3 buff rock, 2 black star and 1 blue cochin. Ordered some of these straight run and some pullets and I think I have 4 cockrels out of the group. They are currently in a separate coop til they get old enough to start mixing them in with the old birds. Got one odd peeper with my order......but she seems to be doing fine with all 3 of her legs!!

glad you have joined us.

Hope the one with 3 legs continues to do well and has no other internal issues.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - even if you have lots of experience, there are always new ideas to consider.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread
