Greetings everyone,

As you might have guessed from my user name I'm originally a horse person but have entered the world of chickendom. It's been a learning experience.

I have 25 baby chicks in a make shift brooder in the house and they are doing very well, quite spoiled. We are in the process of building a chicken house which needs to be done ASAP. Have discovered I know just enough about building to get me in trouble but it's working out alright. Found this forum because I wanted to know if chicks eat ladybugs. They love grasshoppers which I have been catching for them, I told you they were spoiled. I have buff opingtons, barred rocks, americanas, rhode island reds and I believe a black minorca, it was a freebie. All advice is welcome as I've never even had a pet chicken although I've had all kinds of other critters.

Hi! Yup, get ready to build a second coop! By next year this time you'll probably have 50 chickies!

I built one in 2008 and then a much larger one in 2009! But I'm not addicted like the rest of these people!
