Aloha from an old newbie from Hawaii!!
@ 73 yrs old, I've had lots of chickens over the years and now, I'm getting back into it again because it's getting harder and harder to get decent eggs at the store and this covid monster has inspired me to get more self sufficient. I received my 30 'day olds' 6 weeks ago from Murray mac Murray's and have lost 3, but the survivors are doing great. I ordered their mix layer hens and a couple of extra roosters to service the hens in the hope of having a self sustainable flock.
Now, in the process of constructing their final coop and will be asking a few stupid questions and sharing my progress.
My username 'jeabjeab' is the Thai word for the sound that a baby chick makes.....................translates into 'cheepcheep' in American English, sort of making me wonder what the word translates in other languages??
BTW, I'm back living in my island home in Hawaii and this will probably be my last place to roost.
Anyway, Aloha to you all!!
