Hi! My family is new to raising urban chickens. We have seven Buff Orpingtons, 3 Silkies (including one roo who really believes he's a big chicken 
), and 4 Easter Eggers. My children are really excited about raising chickens and collecting eggs. They are also excited about the possibility of hatching eggs in the future. I found BYC after our somewhat impulsive purchase of our Buff Orpingtons while looking for more in-depth information about their care. I finally joined because we are working on expanding on flock and I know that there's a wealth of knowledge available here!
