I just received two chicks of unknown age and breed from a friend as a surprise gift. I believe they are buff orpingtons but I'm not sure. I also believe they are around 10 weeks of age but I'm not 100% sure of that either because I've never had buff orpingtons before. Well my questions are: what breed are they? How old do you guys believe they are? And what do you believe is the best way to integrate them with my 4 adult Rhode Island reds and New Hampshire reds? Here is a picture of them.

From the photo I'd say they are Buff Orps. But in the six to eight week age range.

Unless you are free ranging I'd keep them separated until they are closer in size to the grown birds you already have. If you must put them together give them some place where they can get away from the bigger birds if they get too rough. May need to put their feed and water in that area as well.

Alright I was planning on putting the two younger ones in an outdoor pen right next to the adult chickens when they get to be around the same size then introducing them after a week of doing that.
