New User, New Chickens, But what are the breeds on these guys????

I'm not a pro, yet, but they all look like easter eggers to me. I know I saw all 3 of those (or at least some that looked just like them) when I picked up my 3 new EEs today.

They look like they maybe EE.
EE are hard to sex when young. Roosters tail feathers grow slower than hens. so watch that.

In case you don't know what an EE is.
Easter Egger
They are what almost all hatcherys sell as Ameraucana or Araucana. They are crossbreeds that lay colored eggs. No telling what they are crossed with so they can look like anything. Notice how they don't list colors like they do with other breeds. Araucana and Ameraucana are two different breeds. Sometimes they misspell it "Americana" too.

New here, but my EE looked just like the first pic when we got him. He ended up being dark red with blue/green tail feathers. Colors don't seem to bother the EEs.

The thing that makes me say they don't look like EEs is that they have yellow legs and I don't see any muffs either. Though EEs don't always have green legs and muffs, when a bird doesn't have either of these characteristics, it is much less likely they are an EE.

I don't know about the one's you've highlighted here....but I looked at you BYC page and I'm wondering if you know what your black ones are with the whitish grey tummies?

We got the rainbow selection from McMurray - a ton of EEs (some looked like the chicks above). Only 1 of the EEs had green legs and muffs, and it ended up being a roo. All the EE pullets have yellow legs and plain heads. So not all EEs have those EE characteristics.

Thanks everyone. I had been supposing the EE was a good guess because I am supposed to have 2 of them (or Aura/Americana as McMurray calls them) and can only ID one. The darker and partly black one is the real stumper for me because He just didn't look anything like the others, but as time goes on, all the chicks begin to look more and more alike. I guess time will tell.

GreenThumbMama - I believe that the chicks that you are talking about are either Black Australorps, or Barred Rock. I tend to lean toward the Rock, but not sure yet. Feathering is starting, but still no definative ones that would help me to know for sure. They sure are friendly little guys. And very confident. I wouldn't mind if they miss ID'd a couple of them and I ended up with more females. I have already had Rocks and loved them. What I read about the Australorps sounds good too.

Seems like I already posted on this thread. Is it a double post?

or did someone delete it?

I put Wheaten OEG for the top and Partridge Rocks for the lower two.
