Here's my improvised solution for extending the coop and run. It's not the best, but it has to work for now. The extension has two poop trays, and two roosts. It mates up with the red coop, but I'm not sure if the hens are even using it at night. I know they go under during the heavy rain...

Since I'm new at this, I'd welcome any criticism to help these girls be happier. I'm thinking about fencing the grass area in the picture and moving the coop and run to the edge of the grass. Right now it sits on hard dirt/gravel. I've lined the run with shavings, but it's really wet here and they are soggy.

I think that will work! You can always make changes along the way if you see need for improvement.
