Just became a new member. Been reading the posts for awhile now. Just starting to raise 2 from chicks. Now 14 weeks old and doing great. Located in the Phx area. Anticipating our first eggs in the near future. Hopefully.

Am looking forward to reading and learning alot from this site.

....I'm from Bakersfield, CA and welcome another BYCer who has to deal with horrible heat in the summer. Everyone here has great ideas for keeping chickens cool in summer and warm in winter. What does your chicken set up look like?

I built a nice coop. It is 4 ft by 10 ft and I can walkinto it to do chores. I will try to take a pic to post to show. I only want to have two chickens since I'm in the heart of Phx. We ( my wife ) and I already have several birds (parakeets and cookatiels) that live outside and have a misting system for the summer months. I installed a misting system for the hens and they really enjoy it.
