Hello everyone, egg head is not the kind of user name i wanted but it was all i could think of at the time. Our family has six checkens two red pullets and four mixed red pullets. We originally had six red pullets but i had a ratcoon kill four of them. I only had chicken wire on thier cage but after that i went and purchased some 1/4th metal cloth and put it over the checken wire, Then we found mixed repullets on craigs list for 7.50 each. We offered then 20 dallors for four and they took it. we are now getting four eggs a day and probably in a month we should get 6. there is an age difference of about a month between them.
I am retired from the U.S.Navy and currently working for the sate of florida in corrections. I also work a part time job in security.
I am in the process of putting a garden together and look forward to using chicken manure, theres plenty of it. I just posted a request for zoning rules in charlotte county Florida because i'm not suppose to have any chickens. I had talked with a county official at the garen center and he told me that the commisioners were suppose to vote on chickens last december but that bill was wrapped in another bill and did not get a vote. So i was wondering if anyone knows anything from this area about the bill being passed. My neighbors don't care so i don't think i will have any trouble. I keep them pined in the back of a shed so they can't be seen. But i would like to get them out and let them peck arround the yard. I have a coop that is off the ground about a foot and the coop is 4ft by 4ftx by 4ft. My pen is 8ft by 8ft by 3ft. I have the fence buried in the ground a foot. anyway i think that enough for now, egg head
