Newbie and new member

Hi all,
Been lurking around a bit am planning to get chickens once I am ready. I live in Sacramento CA and I doing my research before taking the plunge. My background is dog training and behavior, 30 years. I am pretty anal about doing things right when it comes to my animals so I am hoping to get lots of information here. I want to do this right but also do not want to get so hung up an every detail that I never do it!!!
