Newbie chick from Oregon

Howdy.
Oregon is my home & has been my whole life. I'm 40 yrs. old & groom dogs & cats as a profession. I love my job! It's the only job I have where I'm hugged & kissed on a daily basis.

For my 41st birthday (this month, May) I've decided to give myself some chickens. This is the first time in my life I will be raising chickies. I'm thinking about one orpington & one cochen (both hens).
This site has been a wealth of info. & has edged me to the do it side of things.
