Newbie, coop opinions?

Another question regarding poop? What do you do with it after scoop it up? 5 gallon bucket? What is the best material to put on poop tray?

I put it into kitty litter buckets , then it goes to buddies compost.

I definitely recommend 1/2" hardware cloth. I have a 4x16 ft run with 4 hens and I am about to double that (at least). I have a nesting box, but usually they use a corner in the coop and they will all usually use ONE place. If one picks another corner, they all move to the same place. I think the recommended nesting boxes is overkill, because most people say they all use the same one, especially with a smaller flock.
I definitely recommend a poop board (just my opinion), and I sift like cat litter. I use Sweet PDZ, but there are other options available.
For the Coop, I use deep litter method, but really don't have much poop at all. I just cleaned mine out after a year. I got rid of the dusty flakes and put in those hardwood pellets (you add some water, they expand and crumble) and they are not dusty at all! https://www.sani-care.com. I didn't have this brand available at my store, but Sani-Care has an odor control version that may could be used under a poop board???
