The auto (gravity fed) water system still has to be built.

I also have another 12vdc fan I can add. But, that single fan moves quite a bit of air across the front of the house.

All input, suggestions, criticism welcomed.

Solway Feeders sells a finished watering system. In their Ebay store they sell all the parts you need to build a gravity watering system. Here is the link to the finished system you can go to their store from there.

I truly appreciate your time to look for that, Chad.

The problem with some eBay sellers is, they do not always ship to Cambodia, where I live. I have had some items shipped to my little brother's home in California, where he would forward them on to me. However, I typically reserve that for urgent items that I need, due to the high cost of getting those items to me.

Fortunately (I guess?), due to city water delivery problems in SE Asia, floats, storage tanks, pressure pumps, etc., are fairly common to find here.

Since we now rent a two story single, attached home, I will add rainwater harvesting to an existing downspout from the gutter system on the structure. I will add storage tanks from there. Then, I will run the watering system off the rainwater storage tanks.

Very impressive coop. I live in the deep south of the US in Louisiana. That's what I'm planning also. Rain barrel and gutter system.

Thanks, Linda. Being my first coop, I wasn't sure how it would turn out. As it was being built, I made some mid-construction-changes. All in all, I am pretty happy with the results. I didn't have all the tools to work with (hammer, saws, chisels, etc.), so I had to buy them. But, even with the tools included in the materials list, the total cost to build the coop wasn't bad:

$93.00 - tools & materials
$20.00 - three days labor
$10.00 - transportation of materials to site

I have one rainwater harvesting system already in place at our farm, 30 Km outside town. So, the system here should be much easier to set up, now that we have a bit of experience behind us. At the farm, rainwater harvesting provides almost 100% of our water needs.

I'm a southern boy, myself. Savannah, Georgia is where my roots are.
