Newbie from east Texas

Hello all!

I'm new to BYC - My husband and I bought our first house in deep East Texas (almost Louisiana!) back in January and since it also has a little over 7 acres, we decided to try our hand at some backyard chickens.

We bought 10 pullets back in March (I've posted pics in the Breed Forum). They're about 16 weeks now and one just layed her first egg this week. Did some research and BYC seemed like the perfect resource as our chicken adventures continue :0)

A little about me - I'm a 20-something high school teacher, my husband is a welder. We have a 4-year old son, three spoiled dogs and now our girls. I've always been a city girl but I'm loving life in the country!
