Hello All! First off, thank you so much for such an informative and beautiful website. Just purchased two layers from our local feed mill two weeks ago and got our first egg today! I believe that they are Rhode Island Reds, although not as dark as the Heritage RIRs that I've seen pictured here. Henrietta and Penelope (Henny & Penny) are very nicely tempered and friendly birds, which is great since we've never had chickens before! We are enjoying them so much that we've just ordered 2 more.... good thing we built the coop big enough!!
