I'm not sure about soil, but water may have to be tested for heavy metals and nitrites/nitrates. Some areas in Michigan have more than others. Where are you at?

Hello and Welcome to BYC!

As far as raising chickens organically goes, I know the feed needs to say Organic (Blue-Seal makes an organic feed) but I don't know about the soil that you raise them on. Try calling your local extension office and ask them.
