Newbie from NC

Hi there! I've been lurking the boards for weeks and have finally decided to take the plunge and become a member. I live in the city and checked with all the officials and confirmed that I am indeed allowed to have hens on my property! (yay!) So we acquired 2 barred rock chicks (so far...) We plan on getting 2 Rhode island reds as well but are waiting for them to hatch. Coop construction is complete (minus the paint job... still haven't decided on a color yet..) Run construction is underway.. I'm excited to be here. This site has been a HUGELY valuable resource already.

Things about me...

I'm young..(under 30)
I married my HS sweetheart - been together for 11 years)
We have 2 kids (5yr. old boy and a 2 yr. old girl)
3 cats, 2 fish, 1 dog.
I'm a Emergency Veterinary Technician
I'm a sucker for sweets.
I'm chatty..
