Hey everyone! My big family and I live in Johnson City and are raising genuine Lay-line Buckeye Chickens that we allow to free range on our property. They are amazing at hiding and staying out of view! We have lots of woods on our property. We currently have 6 hens and 1 rooster (that we call Rojo).

We just found our first egg last Friday! 🙌 So I put them in the coop/run hoping they would start to lay in the nesting boxes (as opposed to who knows where outside). So far, no more eggs. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Our hens came in two hatch groups: one in early April and one at the end of April. So they are hitting that 5 month mark.

We used that first egg in our son's birthday cake. 😊

Looking forward to finding others here local to me and others with Buckeyes!

From some early research on Buckeyes I found out they like to eat mice.
