Hi Everyone!
Located in South East PA! Just got married and decided to use our gift money to purchase everything we needed for chickens (Husband's been talking about it forever years, so I figured this was a good time to buy something expensive and frivolous!) I wasn't super keen on the idea... but now that we have the chick's I've really taken a liking to the hobby (and of course them <3)! I even (poorly) painted our coop.
We currently have 8 chicks. All are unsexed, but our friend has chickens and said that he's ordered sexed chicks before and more than half were males, so I figured we would see what happens! >.>
We have:
5 Buff Orpington Chicks
3 Silkie/??? Mix chicks
Looking to get a couple colorful layers and then that's the end of our flock!
I've found a lot of great tips on here like what toys/activities to set up in our run, how to sex chicks (which I tried and failed at LOL), and ideas for better covering for the run. So, thank you all for having me- I can't wait to learn more
