Newbie - Getting 8 Chicks in a week! Need a Coop Soon!

Help me! I am getting 8 chicks in a week and need to start building a coop for them soon.

I have never built anything big before, but I am fairly handy with tools, etc. I'm in Colorado and I need something easy to build, clean and maintain.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

There are alot of ideas on there. Also do a search on coops and you will be amazed at some of the coops people on here have built!!!

For 8 hens you will be looking at the medium and large sized coops on this site. You have plenty of time to get this project done before the chicks need a coop. You need to make some decisions soon if you are going to build it yourself. So many styles and great ideas. People here will help along the way.

I hope that you enjoy your new chickens and the process of building a coop. It will be memorable!

Welcome to BYC!! Yep a lot of coops to look at here, I love looking at them. All kinds! Also you could check ebay, local newspaper or Craigslist if you want to buy one. Be sure to let us know what you get. We love pictures!
