Hello everyone,
I'm not only new to BYC but I'm new to chickens. My husband had chickens growing up but it will be all new to me. I found BYC while researching as much as possible before getting chickens. They would be for eggs as well as little feathered friends. I had no idea there were so many different types of chickens. All beautiful!
I'm thinking next spring would be a good time to start. So I need to really prepare myself and the property for a safe and happy home for about 4-5 chickens.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you all for being part of the BYC group. I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible here.

Thanks again, Susie from Washington State

Hi, Susie and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=learning+centre and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

Exploring the Learning Center Articles and the Coop/Run Forums will give you the best start.

The number one advice is to build larger than you think .
