Hi all.

We are just thinking about getting some chickens to be part of our ever expanding animal family. We are completely new to this so any advice greatly appreciated. Also can anyone recommend a breed that is suitable for a house that has lots if other homes around it..a quieter breed if that's possible lol.

Good luck in establishing your flock. Cochins and Orpingtons are generally mellow birds.

Unfortunately I’ve never owned a Sussex. But I’d assume the hens wouldn’t be loud.

A common loud hen breed are welsummers.

I’ve owned various breeds and most of them have decently quiet hens.
