Hello everyone. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of eight chicks -- two Easter Eggers, two Delawares, two Red Stars, and two welsumers. They should be arriving in about three to four days! These are our first chicks! We are all ready. Brooder is all set up (using two 18x18x24 boxes we put together and have placed this in our second bathroom's bath tub). Put in a layer of pine shavings but have covered this with paper towels which will be their base for the first few days. Have medicated chick feed, will be using water with supplements for the stress, heat lamp is already on to ensure we can maintain correct temps.
Coop is built and ready for when we move them outside! I think we are ready. Learned all of this from this wonderful forum! Thank you to all of you out there for your posts, wisdom, etc. I really helps us newbies!
