Hi, folks! I have been browsing for a bit, doing my due diligence before strong arming hubby into building me a chicken coop. I am southwest of Colorado Springs. I home school my kids, get my milk from a local ranch, and would love to have a flock of chickens, for fresh eggs and entertainment. Not to mention helping my kids understand the difference between the crap at the super Walmart, and REAL FOOD.

! Great to have you us! I agree with your sentiments exactly - I started out getting chickens mainly for entertainment but the eggs and the meat are hands down so much tastier than grocery store. Best of luck to you!

greetings, we live near Alamosa, my daughter raises chickens, sells eggs, & wants to expand to include silkie chickens.
she has a flock of 60 chickens, 2 turkeys, 3 ducks and border collie to guard the flock. This year she wants to also incubate
the eggs and sell baby chicks. We feed ours wheat, barley, oats, lay pellets and veggies. Let us know if we can be of any help.
