I got my first chickens in Feb basically by accident and was immediately hooked! I have no idea what they are as the eggs they hatched from came from a family friend with a mixed flock. Since then I have added bourbon red turkeys, silkies, and bantams. I am also involved heavily in my papaw's quail hatching and bee keeping adventures! We definately never have a dull moment! I have been a lurker for a while and gotten very useful information from BYC and finally decided it is time to actually get involved!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So glad you finally decided to join our community!

Wow, you sure do have the critters! If you are wondering about what breeds you have, you can post some pics in our What Breed and Gender section of the forums for more help with the breeds....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Enjoy all your adventures in life and we do welcome you to our flock!

Thank you! I will try to get some good pictures of them tonight!
It seems that I need a chicken-y moniker to use on here..

Hi, welcome to BYC!

Always nice to have another poultry lover around to add to the fun! If you haven't seen them yet, there are forums for members with turkeys and quail in addition to all the chicken ones:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/20/turkeys
https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/48/quail

And there are some really good articles about them in the Learning Center (the quail ones were by @TwoCrows who just welcomed you

So get yourself fixed up with an avatar and make yourself at home!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Your user name is fine. I think you are only allowed to change it once, so you may want to hold onto it for awhile.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining and all of us have OCD (Obsessive Chicken Disorder). Beware of "chicken math." Very few BYC members are immune to it. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your rapidly growing flock.

Lol! I am definately guilty of falling victim to chicken math...thank you all so much for the warm welcomes!
