Hi I'm MarySue and I live in Northwest Washington State.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I never wanted chickens before but decided to get a few. I fell in love and chicken math took over I bought my first 16 the first weekend in March.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? After a predator attack while I was at work, (dogs) I was down to 6. I was given 2 Bramah hens and then I bought 8 more chicks. I had to put down one of my pullets, Sugar, because of a faulty ova duct and just gave away two roos. So I have an uneven 13.

(3) What breeds do you have? Black Star, Bramah, Leghorn, Rhode Island Red, and I did have some Buckeyes. Sugar was my only surviving Buckeye.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I have been using BYC to answer my many questions since I got my first babies in March but just joined a few weeks ago.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Knitting and crafting.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a transit operator, wife of 31 yrs, mother, grandmother and ferret mom. I have two adorable ferrets named Conner and Willis. I live in a small town called Sedro-Woolley and adore my chickens. Now that I have an odd number do you think I should add some fall babies????

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a nice assorted flock, sorry about your losses to the dogs and illness. It doesn't matter if you have an odd number of chickens as such, though any excuse to have to add more chickens to a flock works!

Mary! I just joined and am in Darrington :) I love Sedro-Woolley. If it wasn't so far from my work I'd move!

Welcome to the Backyard chickens flock, hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Oh my, you have an uneven number - yes do get more chickens. In fact once you get the numbers evened out, do get more chickens. Bycer's are all enablers, we will never tell you - you have too many chickens. There is no such thing.
