Hi! I'm Kris and am just getting started on raising chickens and guineas. Although we did end up going all in. I currently have 5 bantam straight run 3-week old chicks of unknown breeds and sex (Thanks TSC!) lounging in their "penthouse" brooder in my back room. 17 one-week-old guinea keets are spastically scratching away at their feed in their brooder and have decided I am the equivalent of Godzilla. 20 assorted chicks just joined the party yesterday courtesy of an order from Cackle. They are snuggling up in their half of the brooder "duplex" with the keets until they get the green light from the older chicks to move into the penthouse. (The keets and the chicks are separated and can't see each other.) The little puffs that just arrived are a mix of Leghorns, RI Reds, BO's, Dominique, and Black Astralorp.
Once old enough, all will get to free-range and explore our acreage in SE Alabama.
I'm looking forward to being part of the group!
