Newbie - lost my rooster

Hi, My rooster is 4 months old and I brought him home on Friday. He was here all day and he was gone when i came home at dark. he is in my ravine - no way to get him. i got two hens same age and placed them in the barn where my rooster is supposed to be. How long should I give him before I get too concerned. Julie

I hope he comes home to you! I lost one of my roos this weekend. I cried so hard, that my eyelids were puffy most of the following day. I read somewhere on this site, that most chicken handlers loose their first one to their own dog. Sadly this was true for me. This is the first time I have ever been so disappointed by my dog. I felt so betrayed!

If your Roo can still fly, he will probably roost in a tree somewhere and hopefully come home to you in the morning!
