Newbie needs advice on how to clean pea grave/sand coop run

Hi! I love this site! I am new at this and built a beautiful coop based on one of your designs posted. I have pea grave and sand in the coop run. How do I clean it?! I tried the rake that comes with a pooper scooper, but it pulls the gravel too. I can't use a kitty litter scoop because that would not only pull the gravel too, but the coop is built over part of the run (for shade) and I would have to army crawl under it to scoop- yuck! I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

You actually don't have to clean sand in the run. A sufficiently deep layer allows the chickens to turn the poop and sand over in the normal course of their scratching. The poop gets buried and decomposes.
