Hello! We just recently got 4 silkie chicks about a week ago. I was so excited! I have been checking butts everyday and constantly changing water. They eat alot! The question I have is how old are they? And when I can tell if I have a rooster?

Aww....how adorable!! I agree with Sourland, about 1 1/2 weeks old. Silkies can be hard to sex even when they are mature. Many times you have to just wait to see who lays and egg and who crows.

Welcome to BYC, there are several dedicated silkie threads generally by color ie; Buff silkies, Paint silkies, Nothing but Partridge silkies, etc. My favorite is just "Silky thread." BTW there is also a silkie variety called SHOW GIRLS (Refers to both genders) you might want to check that out as well.
