Newbie question......

I woke up to the sound of tap,tap,tap in bator this am.I thought just maybe a pip on day 20....and ,,,, yes,,,, a pip...

. Now i'm just wondering how long before it will hatch.Right now it has its beak in the hole it has made and thats all i have seen for 7 hours now

The chicky also looks up side down and any advice will be welcomed...Thanks

I have had them go 24 hours from pip till they start to zip. Just sit back and enjoy.....

Did the chick pip on the big half of the shell? If so, the chick is fine and isn't upside down. Their head is under their wing and it could be working on zipping, you just cant see it good enough. I am hatching right now too and had two silkies pip yesterday around 11. So far one of them has zipped and hatched within the last hour. It can take a while so just go do something to get your mind off the egg and check back in a couple hours!
