Hi everyone, I joined this site a few nights ago when I was searching for a good method of keeping my run clean and came across the article and thread on using sand. I then had a good look round and realised that this is a site full of really good info so here I am
I am a 49 year old mother of two adult children who are both still at home after finishing University. I am single and loving it and I live in my own home with my daughters , two cats and 3 ex battery hens
I have a few hobbies besides keeping chickens which are , Gardening and allotment growing, Reading, Cross stitch embroidery and Walking
I live in Devonshire in England in a place that is close to the countryside and the beaches, its a lovely place to live, or at least it would be if it would only stop raining..lol...
I look forward to getting to know people here and picking up tips on how to keep my chooks happy. The sand idea is brilliant :)

Hi! I found this site when looking up things about my chicks also, and it has been terrific and very helpful ever since! So far my family has raised 3 chickens although sadly we have recently discovered that we will have to give away 1 of our chickens because it has turned out a rooster! I hope that you enjoy back yard chickens!

Thanks for the welcome, if only the weahter could be spread out a little more evenly
