Newbie to all of this

Hey there, I found this site when I was trying to learn if having chickens was right for me. After reading several threads I decided to give it a go. I picked up four chicks on Friday (Lavender Orpington, Easter Egger, and 2 Barn Velders) and have them in a brooder in the dining area of my kitchen. So far so good, cleaned my first vent today, and no Pasty butt for my girls. The LO is the biggest crier, the rest just cheep along, she's also the one that I had to clean, so for now, she's my high-maintenance girl. My coop comes on Monday, so I'll have plenty of time to critter-proof the run that surrounds it. I'm an avid gardener and sell tinctures and tonics at Farmers Markets. Anyway, glad to be here and learn about chickens.
