Hi!

I have enjoyed reading posts and learning about chickens on this forum since last spring when I first decided to get my own flock! I got my first four pullets (barred rocks about 16 weeks old) in August 2015. One of the hens died suddenly two weeks ago which hurt my feelings a lot more than I thought it would.

I just had a broody hatch 6 chicks on 6/29 and added 6 additional chicks for her to raise last night. She is doing great so far.

I couldn't have done any of it without you folks asking and answering questions! I look forward to joining the discussions!

Sorry about your hen. It's always difficult losing a bird. But congrats on the new chicks! That is so fun! Thanks for joining us!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! I'm sorry to hear you lost one of your hens, it sure is very sad when we lose members of our flock. I know I've shed many a tear over lost birds.

Congratulations on your new chicks :clap Seeing a broody hen with her chicks sure is a sgot to behold.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow
