Newbie to Chickens

We are a family located in Charlotte, NC. I have wanted chickens for years and finally pulled the trigger a month ago!
We got a mixed flock of six: buff opington, dark brahma, australorp, gold laced wyndotte, bielefelder, and French copper maran.
I spend my nights surfing backyard chickens so I figured it was time to become part of the community of chicken owners!!!

Turning to Backyard Chickens is the best way to spend your nights - keep folks out of trouble unless they decide to order a hundred or so chicks on line when they only have room for 6.
