Hi everyone, I'm excited to learn from you pros!

I have been pondering the chicken life for a couple of years and have been researching for about a year. I'm ready.

I've got my coop design. I've got my hen list.

I want to run an efficient low maintenance operation that is as automated as possible. Do you have any advice on how to make it run well? Maybe things you wish you would have done in hindsight?

I'm editing my initial post to include that you are all so much more helpful and kind than the FB groups. Thank you very much.

Welcome and best of luck to you!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

The best advice I can give you is...give your birds twice the amount of space recommended, keep things very clean, big ventilation the eaves of your coop, fresh food and water daily and keep the treats down to a dull roar. Your birds will thrive, giving you more time to enjoy them.

Welcome aboard!
