Hello all, so I am a newbie chicken mom formerly of the big city and now living in the gorgeous semi rural Stafford County, VA with 8 girls and 1 adopted later that I am almost positive is a roo but I'm not sure, even after combing through countless pics on other boards... My girls are all about 22 weeks (I have 2 RIR, 3 Golden Comets, 2 BB and a Delaware Plymouth Rock) but my little one is about 13 weeks old and after a quarantine time was slowly integrated in and is still not quite welcome with the older girls who are all getting ready to start laying soon. So I welcome more experienced chicken keeping eyes to glance at him/her and give me a best guess if he is a roo or if she is a hen... Thank you!

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens!

I'm not great at guessing, but it looks like pullet. The comb is very bright, has it been that bright since you got it?

Honestly I don't remember, I only recently started looking at combs and wattles because my older ladies are getting ready to lay very soon - this one is only 13 weeks old which leads me to think he is a roo... but we'll see when either it crows or lays an egg I guess.
