I was wanting to have my boys, 12 and 8, to help with the coop. I had an idea of having them to help construct the nesting boxes. I mentioned to my husband that I was going to let the paint them however they wanted. He said that he
was afraid that the chickens would peck and ingest the paint. Does anyone else think this would be an issue? What kind of paint would you suggest we use if not?

well i have the coop painted on the outside and no one pecks at it I do think that if the paint starts chipping well you may have a slight problem because they will peck at it, now I don't have mine painted but I have seen several very nice coops that have them painted so it should be bad, I would just use the paint that you use on the rest of the coop too
