Hi.  I too are new to backyard chicken.  My family of 4 have just got a 7 week old Buff Orphington, Light Brahma, and a sex link.  Maybe an addition of Buff Brahma when we get a right size coop.  I online ordered a Trixie Chicken coop view, but I made a mistake of buying it-thinking it will hold 3 to 4 standard chicken.  The Trixie holds 2 standard or 4 bantams!  When I realized this, I called and cancelled from my Petco order, but they surprised me & delivered it at my front door.  Ordered it Fri, cancelled it Monday, and knock, knock it showed up Tuesday! .

As for a new coop, we have been eyeing on the CC-79, but I am scared to get it because I have not heard any positive remarks at all, and I don't want to make anymore order mistake; :-(  I just love the CC-79-R1; it looks like it will hold 4 standard chicken well.  I noticed belllachicks just bought one.

Bellachicks:  Hay, my mom name is Bella, but anyway, how are you doing with this new coop.  Is your total of 6 chicken okay in it?  I've read one remark about this coop that it leaks water when it rain, the chicken would freeze in it, and its not very sturdy because it was made from China.  but I just love the design of this coop because it looks very roomy for 4 standard hen, and can handle Dallas weather.  What do you think or anyone? Please, I would love to hear your comments or anyone who had the CC-79-r1 coop experience.  Thank you.

Hi there these look like a similar design and materials to one we have purchased and it lasted one winter and now we have had to reroof it as it had rotted and was leaking :-( Pay more and get good quality from the start. It is worth it in the long run.
Good luck.
