Hi everyone!
I have been reading and reading and reading about my new little ducklings (Jeniavee and Jebediah, "Jebby" for short) these past few weeks. I've read up on them before getting them and now that they are here I've increased my reading. I want to thank you all for reading and posting to teach us all something new every day. It has made it much less stressful to know that there is one place for all the answers. :O)

Jeniavee and Jebby are 4 days old and have been in my over protective care for 2 days. Jeniavee is very vocal, plays in the bath, runs around outside (we go outside 2-3 times a day depending on weather for about 10 minutes) and is very much outgoing. Jebby on the other hand is very quiet (which I understand is common in males.. if indeed he is a he) he walk around or follow Jeniavee for a few minutes then seems to rest in the grass. While in the brooder he doesn't really make a fuss as Jeniavee does. He will lay in the water dish (which i have just learned that they shouldn't do and will be changing that tomorrow- our feed store was out of the correct water containers) and he doesn't really extend his neck like she does. I understand that every duckling is different and has different personalities and I'm hoping that Jebby is just docile and going to be laid back but is this your "normal" 4 day old behavior?

I have also saved the do's and don't food list one of you have graciously supplied for us and would like to know when is a good time to begin giving them the do's. It may be that I need to re-read that list.

I think that is all I have to ask at the moment. I will post pics soon as I'm still getting them uploaded to photobucket. :O)
Thanks for reading!

Sounds normal to me. I've always had 1 or 2 more laid back in every batch.

At the moment they have probiotic in their water and they are getting Flock Raiser.

Which code would I use to upload a pic?

Sounds like your doing it right. I started mine on chick starter. Now they are big, fat and fluffy.

Also, a 2 liter bottle with a hole ONLY big enough for their heads to go in and drink, will do for a waterer until you can purchase the correct kind.
