Hi not only am I new to BYC but I am also new to chicken keeping! I have landed in the deep end and found myself caring for 4 hens and a Rooster all of which are feral! They are last years chicks but I am not sure exactly how old they are the rooster does not yet have a full tail and only 2 of the girls seem to be laying but they have not laid in the house for a few days now. I am hoping for some tips on taming them up (they know my voice and come for food) they are currently living out but I will be looking to bring them n at night as soon as I build a pen. Love them already and have named the rooster Sebastian any and all hints and tips welcome!! Xx

Hi, welcome to BYC!

It would be fun to see a photo of your birds, do you know what breed they are? It will take time and patience for them to feel comfortable with you and with being "cooped up" if they've been wild for a while. The way to a chickens heart is through it's stomach so if they already know you are their provider, you've made progress with them.

Good luck to you and if you have questions, feel free to ask!
