Hi everyone, I have checked out this website quite a few times. Everyone seems friendly and full of stories and advice I thought I would join in. I got my first chickens at the beginning of summer and am in love already. I have had a fear of birds from a young age and when my dad suggested I got a couple of young hens I thought he was crazy. He assured me if it didn't work out he would take them for himself. He made me an awesome coop and off I went and picked out 2 of the least scariest birds that was on offer. 2 pekin bantams. I still cannot believe that my dads crazy idea worked! so I went out a month later and get 2 larger hens and have never looked back.
