Hi there,
I'm just at the beginning of starting my backyard flock. Have purchased and assembled my coop and run.
Next is the supply checklist.
I'm looking at a few different breeds.
I'd like to start with hens that are already laying eggs.
I'm looking forward to becoming a chicken Mom!
Good luck everyone!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Uh oh! A pre-fab coop? Whatever the package states for the number of birds it will hold, it will usually hold about 1/4 to 1/3 the number. The "run" they have a all but useless.
You will want more room.
If it is within your wherewithal to build, I would build a coop or convert a shed into a coop. You will not be sorry you did that.

Welcome to BYC!
Started pullets are a great start!

I am just starting as well. I found someone in the area on Craig’slist that need to get rid of their flock. They did not check in to regs first. I have also found local FB groups that referred me to someone with 12 week old chicks. There is lots of information on here about breeds. Never knew there we soooooo many. I have a few picked out that I am interested in. Welcome & Good luck finding your flock.
