UPDATE: I have adopted 8 laying hens from my daughter's friend. She had about 30 hens but something started taking them away and she just wanted the remaining 8 to have a safe home. I have 2 Wyandottes, 2 Brahmas and 4 Americaunas. I've had them about 3 weeks now and they are doing so well! I get 6 to 7 eggs every day! The pre-fab coop is the perfect size for them. My husband helped me put a "door" in from the coop to an old fenced in dog run so they have plenty of room to roam and bathe. I have let them out to free range a few times and they stay close. They love meal worms so when I want them to go back in the run I start making a trail of the worms and they follow me right in! I'm loving them!
