Hi there. I’m new to the BYC. My son got chickens last year.
He has 4 EE , 4 feed store brown layers, a silkie lady, silkie roo and an ayam cemani mix. The last 3 he hatched himself in a homemade incubator.
We love having the chickens and find them fascinating. My 14 yo son takes care of them mostly but I help as they are so darn cute.
If we aren’t playing with the chickens we are usually at the rink. Both my sons play competitive hockey.
We have 2 cats and 3 dogs as well. Our dogs ate a jack Russle poodle mix, a Boston terrier and a Frenchie. The Frenchie LOVES the chickens. She will go in the run with them. Doesn’t bug them at all. Good ol’ Google led me to here and i found so much useful information. We are having some leg troubles with some new chicks that just hatched. Would love to be able to find out some more info.
