First timer here. Looking to learn all I can. Wife wants a chicken coop and greenhouse. I need help. LOL! Looking to repurpose materials I have on hand if possible. I'm starting with a doghouse for the coop. All help and info is appreciated!

When building a chicken coop and run each chicken should have a minimum of 4sq ft of coop space, 1 linear ft of roost, 10sq ft of run space, and 1sq ft of ventilation. Also 1 nesting box per 3-4 hens.
Make sure to use 1/2 hardware cloth on any openings.

Make sure your dog house coop is big enough to walk in to and has plent of ventilation. Keep in mind the birds need about 4 square foot of floor space inside the coop so you might want to rethink starting with a dog house...if you are planning on more than just a few birds.
