I was an eager-egger and bought my pullets from a less-than-reputable breeder. Learning lessons as I go...
My Ameraucanas and my Cukoo Maran came from a different breeder- beautiful and awesome. My NH Red looks like she's supposed to. My Barred Plymouth Rock, however, isn't as dark (is 2 months younger) as my Maran, BUT has the same silvery-looking shading down the front of her shanks. My Buff Orpington has a handful of black-tipped feathers only on her rear. Are these normal attributes or do I have (and am HAPPY to have bc I love my girls!) mutts?
I wouldn't exchange any of them, but for various reasons, won't EVER recommend where 3 of my girls originated!
