we just got our first chickens - 16 golden comets in march. i can't believe how big they have gotten inonly a month. we are considering dorkings for meat chickens. my husband is puttng thefinishing touches on the chicken coup so these ladies can getout of my basement and into the great wild yonder!

Welcome, we are new too! We got 10 at the beginning of March. Our blend consists of Barred Rocks (3), Rhode Island Reds (3), Red Stars (3), and a RIR hybrid. Out of our straight run selection we know that we have 2 RIR roos, 1 RIR hen, 3 RS hens, then we think we have 2 BR hens and one BR roo. THe hybrid is the confusing one, it looks like a roo, but has no tail. Oh well! We will soon know more!!!!
